The brief

The brief

Design a website for a small home cleaning company that wants more recurring customers. Cleaning is a trust purchase with a price question attached. People want to know what's included, who will be in their home, and what it costs, without a sales call.

Goals

  1. 01Show a price in the first screen, without a phone call
  2. 02Make "what's included" completely clear
  3. 03Encourage recurring cleans over one-off visits
  4. 04List the neighborhoods served

The work

The approach

Cleaning companies compete on trust and convenience, and the fastest way to show both is to answer the price question immediately. The estimator sits in the hero. Choose bedrooms, bathrooms, how often and any extras, and the price per visit updates as you go. The prices are samples for this concept, and the page says so.

The look is deliberately bright: cobalt and lemon on clean white, with Bricolage Grotesque, a friendly typeface whose rounded, slightly quirky shapes keep the big headline from feeling corporate.

Decisions worth noting

  • Price first, then proof. The checklist directly below the estimator explains exactly what the price buys, room by room.
  • Recurring cleans pre-selected. “Every 2 weeks” is the default, which matches what most cleaning businesses want to sell, and the lower per-visit price makes the reason visible.
  • One promise, stated plainly. The re-clean guarantee gets its own band instead of being lost in a list of badges.

How it’s built

One static page with a small script for the estimator. The steppers are real buttons with labels, and the price area announces changes politely to screen readers. Fonts are self-hosted. The booking button explains that this concept doesn’t take real bookings.

What would change for a real client

Real prices from the business, a connection to its booking or scheduling software, reviews from its Google profile, and photos of the actual team. If they serve many areas, we’d add an area lookup by ZIP code.
